Installing windows XP on Vaio owner-made SZ83 series and its drivers

Hi guys( and gals)

If someone has some problem with their vaio laptops, like owner made laptops which come with pre-installed Vista home or business version, then this is the place you have to look at. The problem comes when you wish to discard your vista and install windows xp like me. The drivers given with your laptop do not work with XP. Nothing to panic. Here is the solution.

First get the XP update kb835221.exe from net or wherever. Before that, make sure you will have a set of drivers given with you prior to it. Its necessary that you make a back up of the drivers, and even the system recovery disk(in case your comp still has problems, you might as well want to switch back to Vista)

NB: If you are using the cracked version of XP newly released in March, 2007 , you need not do this.

Then install the chipset driver given to you. Then follow these steps.

1) Start>My computer>right click, then click “Manage” >Device manager>Other Devices

2) Then click on each device, like audio driver etc…right clik to get update driver. Then select “No, not this time”.

3) Then select the advanced option.

4)Then give the path where you have the audio driver in your computer. If you have them on your back up CD for drivers, then give the first option, else browse to give the path in your computer.

5) Then proceed to install. This will end installing that particular driver only. You might have to do this for all the drivers.

6) People buying laptops in Japan etc. might have problem installing Felica Driver. Blog in your comment here.

  1. There is a new updated version of XP released in March’07. I have the crack for it, but only if you have that XP, its meaningful. This XP fits into a DVD only (760MB)

  2. hey!
is there a new cracked version of xp released? Any new changes in that one?
