I doubt it will work with the default gmail setup. I think all it's doing is the old send an html email with a link to an one pixel image in it, along with a javascript function to determine the rest of it.I think gmail's default is to not load images, and many people disable html emails anyway (javascript won't run). But yes opening the headders and finding the ip is relitavely easy as it says "sent from:" so just copy that into ip-adress.com and your done!
