Viruses, Trojans and worms can be connected to your files and when you click on that file the virus or Trojan get automatically installed and you can’t even notice that.
These viruses can be connected with files like images, videos, programs and many more file types.
How it works :
Simple to create such file is using a joiner utility, Joiner utility is a simple program by which two files of any different extensions can be connected to each other.
You can give any name to that file as you wish.
That means file named with ‘example.jpg’ can have one more executable file associated with it. So when you click on that image file you’ll see image but simultaneously some program can be installed on your PC.
How to recognize such files are in your PC?
Whenever you download anything from internet check for its file extension.
1.If file I have two extension it is then same file which I am talking about. Note the thing that there no reason file should have two extensions .
e.g. File.jpg.exe or
File.avi.jpg
If you notice such file then delete it immediately .
2. Second case is file having .exe extension for no reason , Means you downloaded a picture file then it should have extension .jpg, .jpeg, or other image file types.
If you downloaded video it should have file extensions wmv, mpeg , avi like this.
But if you notice such file have extension .exe then you should understand that this is a program and eventually delete such file.
3.You may have noticed sometimes you clicked on any file and nothing happened . When nothing opens up it means that file executed some program .
So delete such file and run antivirus and antispyware scan when you notice such file.
