Geeks way of using Goolge

www.google.com we all use this most famous search engine. google provides many advanced search tools through google advanced and some are from XML language. the article provides some twicks for better searching on www.  while using these operators Google also provide particular help pages to understand its optimum use. you can also find Google operators at  http://www.google.com/help/operators.html i have mentioned some operators that are not at google help.

basic boolean
if in a search result you want either a word then you can specify it by putting OR google will search for such words
eg. xml OR java OR “linux”

if you want that a specific word should not appear in your search result then this can specified by -(minus sign)
eg. xml java -”linux”

operators
cache
finds a copy of page that google indexed even if that page is no longer available at its original url or it has changed its contents completely. It is useful for pages that changes often.
Eg. Cache:www.digg.com
Site
Returns result from the specified site only
Eg. Microsoft site:en.Wikipedia.org
this will display all English wikipedia articles containing word Microsoft.

Filetype
To get particular file type results
Eg: virus and antivirus co evolution filetype:ppt
It will return power point presentations on that specified topic.

safesearch
if you include safesearch in your query it will exclude all adult contents in search
safesearch: breasts

intext
if you want search results only from body of web page then you can use in intext command this is very useful for searching strings like yahoo.com in web page which is actually a url
eg. Intext:”yahoo.com”

link
returns a list of pages that are linked to specified url
eg. Link: google.com
will return all pages provide link to google.com

Numerical range
If you want to search of numbers then you can use two dots to represent a range of numbers
Eg. Linux 1991..1995 or mobile $400..600
Special syntax

Currency conversion
To convert dollar into yen
Eg. $5 in yen

Find songs lyrics
Eg. “I am in love” lyrics

To get time of ant city
Eg. Time London
It will return current time of specified city

Flights
If you specify names of two major cities google returns search for flights
