  1. Most of the anti virus software’s are not efficient to find all viruses, it’s better to use the freezing software like “Returnli”, and freeze ur “C” drive, and now u r free to connect any pen drive, and free to move any website. It’s better to disable auto run of all drives

This is the simplest method am using, and welcome to a virus free world :)

  2. worked but did not undo the effects of that fucking virus.

  3. Use “Unlocker”(Search the web) to track the process which creates the autorun.ini and it’s executable file. Use msinfo32(if you don’t have any other special tool) to find the file that execute the process. Delete the file(s). Delete all Autorun infecions(autorun.ini + executable file) from all partitions by typing specified partition name in RUN eg: “C:\” . Never double click on drive until you delete Autorun.ini. Restart and see whether Autoruns are created back. If not you r done.

  4. it did not work! i cant delete it, the comand prompt says ” the process can not acsess the file because it is being used by another program!”

  9. Could you tell me how to enable autorun..??!!

I mean to say, is there anything through which a file would be executed on its own by just clicking on a link.??

    I really need it.

  10. @Ricky, agreed! unless all the related registry entries/batch processes are disabled the Autorun.inf menace is bound to be regenerated again

  11. Nice Idea . But it is far better to go in safe mode and delete all malicious files.
    A little list is here
    ymfx2.exe
    e2.cmd
    net.com

  12. Thank you Ashok for your information , I have an alternate methed to remove autorun virus, boot linux disk and hunt autorun files in our each drive and delete it , please make reply if any error occured.

  13. I really doubt that this given method will work. What about registry entries? What about other processes supported by it? You are not killing those processes also. It will generate it again. Try to restard the windows you will come to know. Anyway thanx for sharing this.

  14. Hi Nice tutorial I had this problem before, and i would like to share how i did it.

Autorun.inf is usually a file containing the information of the program or application to be executed. like when you have windows cd, it will have autorun.inf which would direct you to something like setup.exe.

So first we have to open the autorun.inf file to see what files its been executing and change the attributes of that file or application and del it using cmd prompt.

After deleting that, we have to delete autorun.inf using the attrib commands as mentioned above.

Please note that the system restore must be turned off during this, because virus might get back using the system restore.

After doing the above procedure, reboot the computer, and check the drive again using attrib commands.
