SWIFT : Fastest loading, SEO optimized wordpress theme

Hello folks,
I just finished designing my first wordpress theme named SWIFT. You can check the live demo here
http://geeksplanet.net
http://linuxhere.com
There are many wordpress themes out there with beautiful graphics, image resizers and fancy java scripts, but this theme is different. SWIFT, as the name says is the fastest loading, SEO optimized server friendly wordpress theme.
This theme is mainly aimed at blogs running on low server resources and for those who like clean and simple designs. It’s always good have themes like SWIFT at your disposal so that you can easily switch to it if you are expecting a spike in traffic from social media sites.

Here are some of the best features of SWIFT which makes it stand away from crowd.

  1. Loads very fast, minimum number of http requests. Your server will love it :P
  2. Zero images used.
  3. SEO friendly, For example, this theme uses h1 tag for post titles, instead of the blog title.
  4. Cross browser compatible (Works well on ie6 too :D , except for the curves )
  5. Easily customizable.
  6. Popular posts are highlighted on the home page to give them more exposure, this will turn the first time visitors to your blog into regular readers.
  7. Sidebar and footer with four widgetised sections.
  8. Theme options page for easy maintenance.
  9. Eight different color schemes to choose from.
  10. Ads integrated into theme options page.

I have been seeing this theme for the last 7 days, and i lost my judgment. I would like to have your valuable suggestions before i proceed with adding different colour schemes. Please drop in your suggestions here.

Here are the results of webpage speed analysis.

  • TOTAL_HTMLCongratulations, the total number of HTML files on this page (including the main HTML file) is 1 which most browsers can multithread. Minimizing HTTP requests is key for web site optimization. Y
  • TOTAL_OBJECTSCongratulations, the total objects on this page (including the HTML) is 9 which most browsers can multithread in a reasonable amount of time. Minimizing HTTP requests is key to minimizing object overhead (see Figure II-3: Relative distribution of latency components showing that object overhead dominates web page latency in Website Optimization Secrets for more details on how object overhead dominates web page latency.
  • TOTAL_IMAGESCongratulations, the total number of images on this page is 3 . Most browsers can send multiple requests, which can speed display of multiple images.
  • TOTAL_CSSCongratulations, the total number of external CSS files on this page is 1 . Because external CSS files must be in the HEAD of your HTML document, they must load first before any BODY content displays. Although they are cached, CSS files slow down the initial display of your page. Remember to place CSS files in the HEAD and JavaScript files at the end of the BODY to enable progressive display.
  • TOTAL_SIZECaution. The total size of this page is 112708 bytes, which will load in over 20 seconds on a 56Kbps modem – or 24.26 seconds on a 56Kbps modem. Consider reducing total page size to less than 100K to achieve sub 20 second response times on 56K connections. Be sure to provide feedback for pages over 100K by layering your design to display useful content within the first two seconds. Consider optimizing your site with Website Optimization Secrets, Speed Up Your Site or contacting us about our optimization services.
  • TOTAL_SCRIPTCaution. The total number of external script files on this page is 4 , consider reducing this to one or two. Combine, refactor, and minify to optimize your JavaScript files. Ideally you should have one (or even embed scripts for high-traffic pages) on your pages. Consider suturing JavaScript files together at the server to minimize HTTP requests. Placing external JavaScript files at the bottom of your BODY, and CSS files in the HEAD enables progressive display in XHTML web pages.
  • HTML_SIZECongratulations, the total size of this HTML file is 20594 bytes, which less than 50K. Assuming that you specify the HEIGHT and WIDTH of your images, this size allows your HTML to display content in under 10 seconds, the average time users are willing to wait for a page to display without feedback.
  • IMAGES_SIZECongratulations, the total size of all your images is 19651 bytes, which is less than 50K. Even with a 50K HTML page this page should load in less than 20 seconds on a 56Kbps connection. Ideally each image should be less than 1160 bytes, to easily fit into one TCP-IP packet.
  • SCRIPT_SIZEWarning! The total size of external your scripts is 71695 bytes, which is over 20K. Consider optimizing your JavaScript for size, combining them, and using HTTP compression where appropriate for any scripts placed in the HEAD of your documents. You can substitute CSS menus for JavaScript-based menus to minimize or even eliminate the use of JavaScript.
  • CSS_SIZECongratulations, the total size of your external CSS is 768 bytes, which is less than 8K.
  • MULTIM_SIZECongratulations, the total size of all your external multimedia files is 0 bytes, which is less than 10K.

    Hello Satish,

I just d/l Swift theme from this website and installed it receiving the following errors:

Warning: fopen(/home/ezword/public_html/wp-content/themes/swift/includes/custom-style.css) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ezword/public_html/wp-content/themes/swift/admin/admin-core.php on line 89

Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: stat failed for /home/ezword/public_html/wp-content/themes/swift/includes/custom-style.css in /home/ezword/public_html/wp-content/themes/swift/admin/admin-core.php on line 90

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/ezword/public_html/wp-content/themes/swift/admin/admin-core.php on line 90

I deleted and re-d/l and re-installed receiving the same errors. Also, I cannot get the sidebar to appear. Thanks for your help. Great Theme!!!

P.S. The admin-core.php file exists with:
    $data2.= fread($fh1, filesize($base_style)); at line 90.

The custom-style.css file does not exist. Again, I have d/l and unpacked twice, once using FF2, then using IE8. Same result. Thanks.
