How to write a good article for a blog?

To understand the basic concept of writing a good article you need to know why you should write a good article in the first place!

• For a Blogger, it is very important to spread his/her presence on the Internet. The reason is that there are thousands of people blogging about the same topic that you do.
• When you write a very good article your topic will be shared on various Social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Digg etc
• This increases the chances of getting more visitors to your blog and helps you earn more reputation.

I will jot down few of the most important tips to write a good article for your blog

• After you think of a topic, don’t immediately jump into writing it. Make a rough draft of the points you want to cover in the article, and the sequence in which you want to cover them. Tip: You can first write the subheadings in the post, and then fill the content for the later.
• People use search engines to find information.To get traffic from search engines, include phrases and terms that a normal user looking for the information you wrote, would search for.
• Cover the topic thoroughly, don’t leave any points. It helps you get more weightage from the search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
• Choose a good title for your article. Titles should be catchy and it should be descriptive enough for the blog reader to understand what the topic is all about.
• Use headings (h1, h2, h3…), bold tags, and italics tag. This helps in better readability, also search engines give more importance to text that’s bold, italicized and used in headings.
• Add appropriate categories and tags to your posts, so that your readers can find what they are looking for easily. Tags and categories play a major role in the search engine optimization of a post, technically both categories and tags are same, except for categories are hierarchical. It’s the way that we use them makes the difference. Categories are used to organize the content, and usually there are several posts in one category. Where as tags are used as a means to add additional keyword to the post. Tags are keywords that are very very specific to the post, and are used very loosely.
• Proofread the posts at least 3 times before you hit that “Publish button” because errors are inevitable but minimizing the errors is a possibility. Tip: Use after deadline plugin
• Don’t ever copy articles from other blogs, Plagiarism is BAD and it’s frowned upon by the blogging community.

Though personally I would be writing an original article exclusively for Ezine, people still post the same article which is already published on their blog which by the way causes no harm in terms of SEO.

Never stop experimenting because Search engines are getting advanced every passing day, so you need to catch up with the latest buzz in the world of SEO to succeed online.
